Privacy Policy of the International Society of Reproductive Immunology (ESRI)
ESRI respects the right to privacy protection of the personal information submitted voluntarily by the members and associates of the society.
This Privacy Policy statement describes what kind of personal information is collected during the ESRI operation, how this information is used, how you can correct or update the personal data, and what steps will be taken to safeguard the personal data. By submitting your information to the ESRI you consent to the practices described in this policy. The policy statement has been issued in June 2018, in accordance with the latest guidelines of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Commission. We reserve the right to modify this statement in the future.
• Collection of information
Personal identification data are obtained when you voluntarily choose to provide them by applying for ESRI membership or by using the society’s website. The type of personal information we may collect include: your name, postal address, e-mail address, phone number, URL, occupation, employment information, and occasionally also identifiable photographs. Acceptance as an ESRI member society will include storing these data in the member’s database.
• Use of information
The ESRI may use the personal identifying information to create and manage your membership account, to contact you for professional or membership matters and to provide information, which is a part of the ESRI services, including: society newsletters, special events and meetings, available grants, alerts on significant research developments and other communications we believe might be of interest.
• Disclosure and sharing of information
The ESRI does not disclose or share your personal information with any unaffiliated third party, except in response to lawful requests by public authorities or law enforcement requirements. The ESRI does not and will not sell any personal information for commercial use.
The society’s website may feature blogs, communications and information which may use your name, affiliation and photographs from society events, e.g. congresses, meetings, exams. Please be aware that some of this information may be publicly available or shared by other members.
• How we protect personal information
We will use appropriate physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect your data. Access to your personal data is restricted to the ESRI administrators, elected Officers and Executive Council. Information on and photographs of current and past ESRI officials are publicly visible on the ESRI website. In addition, we train our administrative and technical staff about the importance of maintaining the confidentiality and security of your information.
• Access and correction of personal data
To exercise your right to correct or update your society’s or personal membership profile, you can contact the secretary or the Officers of the ESRI (contact email of the officers will be available on the ESRI website). Please be aware that the transmission of information online is not completely secure.
• Your rights
You have the right to make a written request to be informed whether or not we hold or process any of your personal information (by e-mailing to treasurer@andrology.org). You may also ask the ESRI administration to correct any errors in your personal or society’s information or to request that we delete your personal information if you are no longer an active member of the society. You may also request that we transfer your personal information to a third party.
• Governing law
This Privacy Policy shall be exclusively governed in accordance with the laws of the European Union.
